Sunday Evening Service

Summary

All Scripture is profitable, not just part of it. God is a God of judgment as well as love. God gives us boundaries to prevent difficulties in our lives. Everything from the Word of God is good, though it may not be easy.

John 3:16 is perhaps the most famous verse. It describes how the love of God was so much that He sacrificed His Son for us.

I John 3:16 contains our response to the love of God. When the love of God is understood and internalized, we love others. We are to be a living sacrifice for God.

Malachi 3:16 talks about the people of God, sharing with each other. God heard their conversation and was pleased. He’s keeping records in Heaven, sort of like a scrapbook.

Colossians 3:16 deals with New Testament saints, instructing them to sing to themselves as a result of letting God’s Word dwell in their hearts. There is a Lamb’s Book of Life with the names of those who are saved.

Matthew 3:16 is about the Son of God, after He had been baptized by immersion. Jesus was perfect, without sin.

II Timothy 3:16 The Bible is useful for reproof when we are wrong. It is also good for correction, to show us how to get back.

Ecclesiastes 3:16 There is a real place of judgment. People really do go to hell. This is not a happy truth, but it is a truth. Even Christians are judged; God will chastise His children when we need it.
