Sunday Evening Service
Foot washing is not an ordinance; Jesus demonstrated through foot washing that the greater should serve the lesser. We must realize that all our blessings are from God; everyone must be willing to do menial service. We are happiest when we are working.
Happy is the man whose iniquities are forgiven. Everyone has sinned, but we have forgiveness through Christ. Jesus paid for our sins.
Happy is the man whose delight is in the Word of God. We ought to desire it. We should spend quiet time with God.
Happy is the man who keeps God’s commandments. We are blessed when we obey God. We get our prayers answered when we are in His will. Keeping God’s commandments keeps us from sin, and that keeps us happier.
Happy is the man who dwells in the house of the Lord. God owns all of our time; we ought to build our life around church.
Happy is the man who waits on the Lord. We need to run in God’s strength, not our own. We don’t burn out if we’re working with God instead of in the flesh. Keep tabs on your children; there’s nothing wrong with technology, properly applied. God knows where we are; we shouldn’t be searching for marriageable partners. If you find somebody, you’ll settle for what you find; if you wait on God, you’ll get His best.
Happy is the man who puts his trust in the Lord. Our faith is seldom truly tested. If we trust in the Lord, we will not be disappointed.
Happy is the man who has grace to endure. The Devil is a subtle tempter. The best way to avoid temptation is to be totally innocent. Look for a way of escape.
