Wednesday Evening Service
What our countries and families need is reachable, if we would just do it.
The theme for our National God Save America is “We Will Serve the Lord.” This is in spite of the conference being after the November elections; regardless of the election outcome, we need to determine to serve God. We need to get back to the Constitution and the Word of God.
We must have personal responsibility. We need to choose whom we will serve. Don’t waffle between serving the world and serving God. Prodigal children eventually come to themselves; don’t make it easy for them to live in sin.
We must have childlike dependence on God. Our country is in need of change. The “change” that was promised has only worked to destroy this country. We are being handed over to the Muslims by a treasonous president. We need to have childlike dependence on God, not the government.
We must resist individual temptation. All of us have similar temptations. Remember the end of sin. Whenever Satan tempts us, God makes a way for us to escape that temptation.
We must have earnest intercession. We should pray for each other and our church. Pray for our civil leaders; pray for President Obama to get saved and give his heart to Christ.
We need self-forgetfulness. Daniel told his dream to the king for the sake of the innocents. Our country needs selfless servants as representatives.
We need to render good for evil. The Old Testament rule was “an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth,” but Jesus clarified this rule. Jesus fulfilled the law; parts of it no longer apply. Jesus made it clear that vengeance is the Lord’s, and taught us to overcome evil with good.
We need to be working on eternal satisfaction. A double-minded man is unstable is all his ways. We should try to be like Jesus; we’ll be like Him someday, and be satisfied.
Our country needs Jesus Christ. We must devote ourselves to serving the Lord.
