Sunday Evening Service

Summary

Will Jesus find faith on the earth when He comes again? God told us to earnestly contend for the faith. Faith is the essence of being a believer in Christ. When was the last time you asked God for something specifically that you couldn’t do yourself?

The Bible points to faith as a requirement for salvation. Faith implies trust. God provides the faith we need. Instead of having your kids watch you manipulate things to get what you need, have them watch you pray it in. We need to keep praying repeatedly to God.

God expects our faith to grow as we go. Jesus is the source of our faith, and He will increase it as we ask. Trials too great for us are opportunities for increased faith.

God expects us to live by faith. Faith is the opposite of sight; it is “blind faith” by definition. A good God is better than a good job. Many times we don’t do what God wants us to do because it’s hard. We overcome fear by faith.

God gives several instructions on how to expand our faith. Don’t waver; believe that God can provide. Don’t stop half-way; have faith all the way.

God also wants us to preserve our faith. Be cautious of friends who don’t have faith. It’s like body building; exercising the faith we have will strengthen it. Use faith at higher altitudes; let God lift you up.
