A personal message from Assistant Pastor Ryan Rauhaus

The Bible says in II Corinthians 5:20, “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ.” An ambassador is a minister of the highest rank employed by one prince or state, at the court of another, to manage the public concerns of his own prince or state, and representing the power and dignity of his sovereign. The Bible also says in I Timothy 4:12, “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”

There are so many things in this world that are competing for the attention of our young people. The sad thing is that many times these things catch their attention and lead them away from the things of God, causing many scars and regrets in their life. Usually it is at this point, if there is a turning point, that they turn to God and His way.

Many teenagers think that their teen years are the time to “sow their wild oats.” However, it is my desire to reach young people as soon as possible with the gospel of Jesus Christ and see them become shining examples and ambassadors for Christ. I would much rather see a young person be a testimony for Christ rather than be an illustration of how sin can ruin a life!

I would love to have you come and be a part of our exciting youth program, where we are striving to represent the King of Kings here in Petoskey, Michigan.

Every Wednesday, the teens put on a service for the elderly at Bay Bluffs in Harbor Springs. On Saturdays, the teens go soulwinning or assist with bus visitation. The teens also put on a church service, usually one Sunday evening service each month, acting as ushers, musicians, and song leaders.

The teen group at Landmark Baptist Church regularly has other activities throughout the year. Check the upcoming events for any activities in the near future, or contact the teen director, Assistant Pastor Ryan Rauhaus.
