Summary

Christ Jesus had a perfect, all-knowing, pure mind. We are commanded to be humble like Jesus. Even though He was God, He is our example in humility.

Jesus lives in our hearts if we are saved. He is our light, and we are to work Him out in our actions. We are to be lights in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation.

We are in a dark environment. This was true in Paul's day just as ours, but Paul does not recommend giving up. Rather, he commends them for shining as lights in the world. Likewise, our church should be a light in our area and nation.

Jesus said that we are the light of the world. He exhorted us to let our light shine before others so that God would get glory. The purpose of standards is not to get glory to the one with the standards, but to get glory to God.

The world is starving for something that they can't even identify. It is our job to let our light shine, which shows the world what they truly need. Christians have these opportunities every day. We are supposed to let our lights shine until Jesus comes.
